Ways of Christian Prayer
Location
Students will survey the principal methods of prayer as taught by various saints and doctors recognized as wisdom figures in the Church. The class will consider methods from traditions such as Franciscan, Dominican, and Ignatian as well as the Jesus Prayer and Lectio Divina from the early monastic and Benedictine tradition.
Instructor: Fr. Luke Buckles, OP, Professor of Spiritual Theology at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome.
This retreat-style course meets in Berkeley from 9:00am to 12:00pm and again from 3:30pm to 6:30pm on Friday and Saturday, July 13-14, 2012. It may be taken for continuing education credit (CEU) or for personal enrichment.
